OpenDX is a visualisation program.
It was developed by IBM and released
as an Open Source code. It uses a very smart technique and a beautiful
concept for visualisation however the program uses the X Window environment
and Motif GUI toolkit. Although X Window server exists for MS Windows and
Mac OSX and therefore OpenDX could be run with Motif,
I felt that X Window and Motif are limiting the development of
the OpenDX system. Furthermore
the development of the OpenDX program has been halted in
the past couple of years.
This is an attempt to revive the OpenDX program and
environment in such a way that it can run natively on different operating
systems, such as MS Windows and Linux. On MS Windows without an X Window server!
